Poster and Social Media
The Poster and Social Media project prompted each individual to create an event of their choice, designing a poster and three social media posts to advertise their event. Out of a love for cooking and a family vacation I took to Italy, I decided to make my event an Italian cooking class.
I wanted my design to be clean and refined, but with a rustic element. The desire for a rustic element resulted in all of the food items being hand-drawn with imperfect lines for shading and details. I first drew the common ingredients used in Italian meals on a sketchpad, and then traced over my drawings in Illustrator. For the social media posts, to keep them cohesive with the poster, I zoomed in on specific ingredients and added short advertisements on each one.
